The Hand of Fate

Is there a reason that the word "The" was removed from "The Hand of Fate" title? You can look up playthroughs on YouTube and "The" appears in the game's main menu. Also, the trilogy box set that featured all 3 games, where they finally fixed the name of the first game also has "The" in the title.
