Anal sex in the movie edit

The claims that this film broke taboos regarding the depiction of anal sex are somewhat dubious given that this is not hardcore porn. The examples cited do show couples engaged in sex, and the positions the couples are in while having sex have the male positioned behind the female, but unless I missed something in the dialogue, there's nothing in the film to suggest that the sex they were having is anal. -—Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.19.205.69 (talk) 13:55, 12 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

There is not a single claim that "this film broke taboos regarding the depiction of anal sex", so there's no problem there. As for your second claim, if the nude coach thrusting himself over a nude cheerleader from behind while both moan isn't enough for you, than probably nothing will be. Likewise for the bus driver thrusting himself from behind over a bottomless cheerleader. -Thefixing 21:58, 16 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Plot Section Requires Rewrite edit

Firstly, the assertion that this depicts anal sex is little more than conjecture. The scenes are just as likely depicting vaginal intercourse from that angle. You should either cite a reference which shows that the depiction of anal sex was the intention of the director or shut up. In fact, the entire Plot section should be redone. The assertion that the seduction of the boys representing the rival school constitutes "rape" is absurd. Neither speculation nor grammatical errors such as those which littered the Trivia belong in encyclopedic entries. Either do a rewrite or leave the entry as it is. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.105.172.111 (talkcontribs) 04:02, 122.105.172.111

First of all, you know very well that anal sex in a (1970s) softcore film is not as "obvious" as vaginal sex. Secondly, you can't re-write the plot just because you don't agree with the movie. The cheerleaders kidnap the opposing guys one by one and have their way with them. Sorry, that's what happens. You just can't go around that. For example, they jump a guy in the cinema, pull him under the chairs and get their way with him. Another cheerleader breaks in to a guy's house and jumps him in his bedroom while he's lifting weights, thus he can't stop her. Those are actual examples and you can't change them just because you have the power to edit. -Thefixing (talk) 16:02, 15 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Well, your anonymous censorship of the entire article shows exactly the known downsides of Wikipedia. -Thefixing (talk) 16:04, 15 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Cheerleaders Wild Weekend edit

I know it is not included on the DVD release but why isn't Cheerleaders Wild Weekend included in this article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.237.7.5 (talk) 18:44, 12 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

I have now included Cheerleaders Wild Weekend into the article and also removed the word "comedy" from the first sentence since The Swinging Cheerleaders despite its name is not really a comedy as it contains more drama than laughs. --The Shadow Treasurer (talk) 07:15, 1 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Whoever said it's part of the series? Is it original research? -Thefixing (talk) 23:23, 24 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Sequels edit

The article has a "sequels" section that lists The Swinging Cheerleaders, Revenge of the Cheerleaders, and The Great American Girl Robbery. The IMDB links the first three films at least, and there's a DVD boxed set that includes them, but given that they seem to have been produced by different teams of people are they actually sequels at all? Girl Robbery seems to have nothing to do with the two films that came before it (the IMDB doesn't link it to them), and they in turn appear to be completely independent from the original Cheerleaders. -Ashley Pomeroy (talk) 23:16, 10 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
