Plot Errors edit

I watched this last night and see that there are a few factual errors in the plot. The current wording reads:

"Norah and henchman Ding Bell ambush and shoot Jeff, after which Bell is killed by Taylor's top hand, Sam Tobin. A doctor treats Jeff's wounds but the sheriff charges him with Bell's murder.

When the situation escalates and Norah personally guns down the newspaper editor, Jeff breaks out of jail and organizes a group of vigilantes."

Norah and Ding Bell ambush Jeff, but Norah's shot misses. They take him back to the ranch, where Taylor tells Jeff he will have to die because he saw the railroad surveyors. Taylor knows the railroad is coming through and that the land will skyrocket in price, so he decides to have Jeff killed. He sends Ding Bell out to kill him, but also sends Tobin to watch Bell, because Bell expressed reluctance at murder. Jeff convinces Bell to let him go, but seeing this, Tobin shoots Bell. Jeff rushes back to help Bell, but is shot by Tobin. Bell is not dead however, and rolls behind a log and pulls out his revolver. As Tobin approaches, he recognizes him and says he was bushwhacked. Tobin starts to take aim to kill Bell with his rifle, and both fire at the same time, killing each other.

Somehow Jeff gets on a horse and the horse carries the passed out Jeff to the home of one of the squatters, where the squatters are having a meeting about fighting back against Taylor. They nurse Bell to health and Bell decides to help them fight Taylor. The marshal (Wayne Morris) arrives and arrests Jeff for the murder of both Bell and Tobin.

After printing an editorial telling the truth about Taylor, a couple of Taylor's henchmen ride into the newspaper office and start trashing the place. Peter reaches for a gun, but is shot down before he can draw it. The marshal has his deputy remove the handcuffs from Jeff in jail and Jeff ambushes the deputy, takes his gun, and leaves him in the jail cell. The marshal arrives at the newspaper office and Cathy wants him to leave, until he reveals that he has let Jeff go and has turned sides against Taylor.

With Tobin dead, Norah leads the raid against the squatters, but warned of their coming, the squatters ambush the hired guns, kill some, and take the rest prisoner. Norah escapes and rides into town to get her money out of the bank. The banker says she has no real deposits and implies he will keep it all. She then shoots him. I do not remember the rest of this scene.

Meanwhile, Jeff and one of the squatters ride to Taylor's place to confront him. Filled with rage, Taylor tries to rise and attack Jeff, but falls dead to the floor, apparently from a heart attack or burst aneurysm. Jeff then rides into town to confront the marshal. He walks in on the marshal and tells him to draw. The marshal replies that Jeff stands no chance against him, but Jeff says he doesn't care, he will try all the same and tells the marshal to draw. Instead the marshal drops his gun belt from around his waist and Cathy realizes he has been changed and now espouses the non-violence that Jeff brought into town. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 38.75.24.227 (talk) 20:31, 20 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
