Article Needs Clarification of Fogarty's Dismissal As Editor, and the Review's Hiatus

There are puzzling aspects to Fogarty's dismissal as editor, and The Antioch Review being put on hiatus. The excuse Antioch College gave was that there were financial problems in continuing to publish. However, as recently as five years ago, Fogarty told contributors (including me) that the review had secure endowments and would not experience any shortage of funds. Where did this money go? Also, it was Fogarty who built the review into a world-class publication. Why would he be threatened with legal proceedings when he struggled to continue the publication? Why would he be stonewalled when he asked the college about the review's future? Why would he be essentially fired, with so little ceremony or excuse? What about the alleged public controversy, between staffers Cynthia Dunlevy and Managing Editor Ben Zitsman, about Zitsman possibly overstepping his role? Frankly, these were messy situations which the article does nothing to elucidate. Younggoldchip (talk) 16:44, 14 January 2024 (UTC)
