John Robinson and his circus. edit

@Beeblebrox: Thanks for the recent revert on vandalism. I wanted to let you know that when I looked through the edits from the last few years, I saw this one by you deleting Robinson Circus. I started writing you a long note to tell you that Robinson, the circus and the elephant are all notable, and that I had assembled tons of RS on this over two years ago, but never wrote the article. As I was starting to copy and paste all the WP:RS to show you, I figured why waste my time proving it here and saying I wasn't sure where to start, when it would be about the same work to just write the articles!  :) So, in that sense, I have to thank you for motivating me to prove notability which motivated me to finally start the articles! --David Tornheim (talk) 09:23, 5 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

That's awesome, since that is the one and only reason for those removals. I grew up there myself, so of course I heard all about it as a kid. Beeblebrox (talk) 19:18, 5 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
Me too! Did you go the elementary school? --David Tornheim (talk) 23:02, 5 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Suggestions on where to add this information? --David Tornheim (talk) 18:55, 5 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hilariously, I also used to work as a shelver at that library, and recall spending a lot of time retrieving and re-shelving all those genealogy books. I think it was Wednesday nights that some sort of group would meet there to assist one another with such research and it was by far the busiest that department would ever get. However, this as far as this article is concerned, I don't really see it as being about Terrace Park. There is a whole section at Anne Hutchinson about her family. It seems he is in some fairly notable company. Beeblebrox (talk) 19:28, 5 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
Funny. I worked at a library in the area too. I also shelved books! I was the only one in the library who did their shelf reading--I only figured that out later when after like a year, I came to the first section I had put in order and nothing was out of order. I basically put *all* the books in order in the *entire* library! The Cole's daughter--the man in the picture--went to my school. I talked to him and/or his wife a number of years ago about the history of Terrace Park. They really know a lot. I think one of them taught in Milford. They did a lot of work on that TP Survey. Later I'd like to ask your thought on that survey and whether we can use any of it for our articles. They did some amazing work, but I fear it may be WP:PRIMARY. Some of what they compiled is from secondary sources, so that should be okay. --David Tornheim (talk) 23:10, 5 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
