Reasons for cleanup edit
Since my mini-cleanup involved a page move and a couple of significant changes to the article I thought it would be an idea to let people know why.
- The page move was done because 'piracy' is an industry POV term, whereas 'copying' describes the mechanics of what is being done without taking sides for or against
- I removed the constant references to 'illegal copying' because they seemed a bit soapboxy - once we have informed the reader that the copying is normally without the copyright holder's consent, then we have stated the legal issue. We don't need to clutter the rest of the article by repeating it ad nauseum
- I removed the unsupported claim that the number of these copies being made has dropped, as it implies without source citations that the industry countermeasures mentioned in the article have been successful
- I removed the claim that the countermeasures are used to 'prosecute' those who produce unauthorised copies as it is factually incorrect. A technical measure on a piece of film does not prosecute offenders - lawyers do (whether working for the victim in a civil case or the public authorities in a criminal case).

See also section is already covered by the Pirated movie release type template, so I remove the whole section. --JanusDC (talk) 02:45, 30 August 2009 (UTC)
