TVEI student

edit

I was one of the first students in a TVEI school, and I immediately noted flaws in their program back in 1985/6. For example, they had a block system where you would choose "office studies". This encompassed general office studies, typing class (manual typewriter), learning how to use a word processor (electric typewriter), and shorthand. There was a separate block for things like architecture, graphic design, and computers. This made NO sense to me at all, and as someone who very often voiced my opinion lol, I told them flat out what I thought! However, I was met with a reply of "computers aren't part of office work" or "you don't need to know computers to work in an office" 🤦🏼 I knew computers were going to be needed. NOT shorthand! But I digress.. yet another brilliant idea they had, foolishly executed.

Perhaps they improved it as time went on. I'd like to think so. Klewicki71 (talk) 16:45, 19 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
