"Jameel" vs "Jamil" edit

It appears that most sources use "Jameel". If someone thinks it should be changed, please explain and provide sources. Please do not change links, titles in references, etc. --Ronz (talk) 15:52, 1 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Don't change in indian subcontinent people call name by different sounds and words. Slaveraza (talk) 04:26, 21 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Conflict of interest edit

I'm not clear that there's been enough coi-influenced editing to justify the article tag, but I've restored it in the hope that it will help resolve some of the recent editing problems. --Ronz (talk) 15:55, 1 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Criticism on Tariq Jamil edit

Please add Criticism on Tariq Jamil. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wikiacc97 (talkcontribs) 13:38, 13 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

That’s not consistent with Wikipedia BLP policies. George Custer's Sabre (talk) 14:20, 13 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
@GorgeCustersSabre: What? Why not? --Saqib (talk) 14:53, 8 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Image edit

@GorgeCustersSabre: You could have altered the wording instead of outright removing a sourced and uncontroversial passage. "Is said" is absolutely fine wording and can be found in several BLP's. However I've changed the wording for now. Instead of hard reverting next time, please take time to debate. --Saqib (talk) 19:17, 8 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Views on COVID-19 edit

Tariq Jamil’s statements on the cause of the COVID-19 outbreak, and public criticism by government ministers and other figures, are certainly notable enough to be included, and the section is reliably sourced. Jamil’s fans have repeatedly tried to remove the section or modify it to read benignly. I hope my fellow editors can help to keep this section neutral, factual and reliably referenced. Thanks, George Custer's Sabre (talk) 05:54, 26 April 2020 (UTC) Request to include his recent twitter clarification and support conferred to him also. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 169.149.18.34 (talk) 06:31, 28 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Protection edit

This page used to be protected earlier and only verified users could edit it.

I think that protection has now been removed and there has been a lot of back and forth between real users and the following:

39.45.7.53 39.32.208.14 39.32.208.14 173.72.148.88 39.36.217.252 157.47.32.31

Can someone with the right privileges please protect the article again? Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Monatowfik (talkcontribs) 23:55, 26 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Source for Jurisprudence edit

@GorgeCustersSabre:

I would like to get your opinion on the following source and extracts:

The reformist Deobandi and Tablighi networks (Hanafi Sunni) were centred on the Islamic Seminary in Deoband, North India, which was founded in 1866 by Muhammad Qasim Nanaotawi (1832–79) and Rashid Ahmad Gangohi (1829–1905), two conservative scholars...

The same source later says:

The latter is the case for Tariq Jameel, a Deobandi scholar, running his own Madrasa in Faisalabad, and a leading functionary of the Tablighi Jama‘at

Would this form adequate evidence that Tariq Jamil is a Hanafi, or do you think it would lapse into OR and Synthesis?

Look forward to your reply. ParthikS8 (talk) 14:48, 17 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
