Hamstead Wharf

edit

I can't get an exact fix on Hamstead Wharf; it doesn't show up well on Google Maps satellite view. Is it between the two Hamstead aqueducts, or west of them? Andy Mabbett 13:57, 25 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Location added from map in Pearson BCN Guide. Doesn't look anything special from Google Satellite. Oosoom Talk to me 10:21, 6 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
It is next to the narrowest-looking "toll island" - probably just a stop-planking point to protect the aqueducts? Oosoom Talk to me 10:23, 6 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. It may have served that function, but also served Hamstead colliery (and possibly the former brick works nearby). Andy Mabbett | Talk to Andy Mabbett 12:12, 6 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

James Walker

edit

James Walker is a disambiguation page. Is James Walker (engineer) our man? Andy Mabbett 14:02, 25 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Presumably - he was associated with Telford. Dabbed in article. Oosoom Talk to me 10:13, 6 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Coordinates

edit

Can anyone provide the missing coordinates, please? Andy Mabbett | Talk to Andy Mabbett 19:51, 3 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Is this on of the missing wharves? Andy Mabbett | Talk to Andy Mabbett 11:44, 10 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
I suspect that this and a similar one to the west of the M5 aqueduct are sturdy constrictions / constructions to hold stop planks for the construction of the aqueduct. Oosoom Talk to me 22:39, 10 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
