How is Kanon La Folia's aunt?
editIf both are daughters of King Lucas, then they are half-sisters. Or is she the daughter of the previous king, who is also the father of the current queen? This would also make her a sister-in-law to Lucas.
Is there a good layout of the Aldegyr lineage to provide some clarity on this? ogenstein (talk) 01:32, 28 April 2019 (UTC)
Nevermind. She is apparently the half-sister of Queen Polifonia and daughter of the queen's father. ogenstein (talk) 08:41, 30 April 2019 (UTC)
Expand section tag removed
editRemoved the 'Reception - expand section' tag which recommended "manga review, and more overall reviews instead of just the first few episodes" as per EAFAQ 2.5. Please advise if there are concerns.
Kojou transliteration edits
editPlease see the publisher's light novel page for the appropriate (and official) transliteration, which is what is covered by the relevant link which I provided. 'Kojou' is used in the book texts as well.
Characters should be identified by the names used in the official English releases of the series.
If the above did not apply, then the appropriate method would be to use a macron: Kojō (as displayed inside the brackets for his name — (暁 古城 Akatsuki Kojō)), which is recommended in the other references I provided. ogenstein (talk) 05:38, 26 July 2019 (UTC)
Last paragraph of original comment edited for tone, clarity, and to focus on the matter at hand: Elsewhere… what I reverted was the 'kojo' edit. Making a 150+ item edit of which >95% are identical makes it too easy for an item to be missed, especially an infobox item. I did replace one of the edits. Feel free to re-do the Himeragi edit. Ideally, those edits could have been in a separate edit which would have kept them from being snowed under.
For the record, it is inconsistent to demand adherence to the MOS for some edits but not others without a significant reason. The MOS deals very specifically with character names and there is no ambituity in this case. Regarding name order, I'm not advocating changing it around. I pointed out the inconsistency of claiming that a source is inviolable except when — in the same two words — it is contrary to another position taken. - There is no dispute (I hope) over what the character's name is. It is '暁 古城'. This is provided in all of the Japanese media, including novels, manga, anime, etc…. The question is how do we represent that on the English wikipedia page.
- The guideline is simple and clear — use the official English release name (quoted above from WP:MOS-AM#Characters 'Regarding names').
- For this work, there are three forms of major media to choose from: novels, manga, anime.
- The guideline advises using the one which contributed the most to the work becoming known in English, usually the primary work — in this case the novels, but all three media use the same transliteration. Again, from WP:MOS-AM#Characters 'Regarding names':
If there are multiple English releases, such as both a manga and anime, use the one that is best known and that has contributed most to the work's becoming known in the English-speaking world (usually the primary work).
- Again, please see the publisher's light novel page where it provides 'Kojou'.
- There are no other sources for this determination.
- The referenced game is not a major work, nor is it an English-language work. Add it to the page under 'media' if you like but it is not a factor in the spelling of Kojou's name on this page.
- As such, I have edited the names back to 'Kojou'. I don't believe there is any justification for further reversions but if your intentions are such, please discuss here first. Thanks. ogenstein (talk) 08:14, 27 July 2019 (UTC)
Character description for Yukina Himeragi: how she came to the Lion King Agency
edit(I intended to edit the article myself, but after reading through help files, etc. I was overwhelmed and I decided to leave it to people who know what they're doing.))
In the description for Yukina, it says "Like many of its members, she was sold to the Lion Kings by her parents."
However, according to the Yen Press edition of the light novel, Yukina was rescued (not bought) by the Lion King Agency.
In Vol. 10, pages 157-158, Yukina reminisces about her past: she was rejected by her parents, who couldn't cope with her powerful and uncontrollable spiritual powers. She eventually wound up in the hands of a group of spell casters, who wanted to sacrifice her to their god, and the Lion King Agency sent a Sword Dancer to rescue her.
Various characters in the anime and the LN do claim that Yukina and other children were purchased by the Lion King Agency for use as tools, but a lot of that seems to come from people trying to cause trouble by demoralizing Yukina and damaging her allies trust in the Lion King Agency.
I think the sentence about her being 'bought' should be removed, but I'm not sure how much (if any) of the correct version (as recalled by Yukina) should replace it.--Tanstaafl9 (talk) 01:06, 13 October 2019 (UTC)
