Former good article nomineeState Highway 30 (New Zealand) was a Engineering and technology good articles nominee, but did not meet the good article criteria at the time. There may be suggestions below for improving the article. Once these issues have been addressed, the article can be renominated. Editors may also seek a reassessment of the decision if they believe there was a mistake.

Needed for the article edit

Here are some things I would like for the article:-

  • Maps of the route for the infoboxes
  • Photos of the route (has anyone got a picture of the tree in the middle of the road near Lake Rotoma?)
  • The symbols for the Thermal Explorer Highway and the Pacific Coast Highway to go into the junction table
  • km for junctions. These are indicated by small signs at the junctions, and i amo noly sure about the ones near Rotorua (and Te Kuiti, as it must be 0)

GA Review edit

This review is transcluded from Talk:New Zealand State Highway 30/GA1. The edit link for this section can be used to add comments to the review.

  1. Is it reasonably well written?
    A. Prose quality:
I would look into some more blue links and an overall copyedit.
    B. MoS compliance:
This article has some bad choices of headers. Most articles, even outside the U.S. follow USRD structure.
  2. Is it factually accurate and verifiable?
    A. References to sources:
This article is poorly referenced. There is 1 citation in the entire article and I really doubt this will pass with just one citation.
    B. Citation of reliable sources where necessary:
    See above.
    C. No original research:
    See above.
  3. Is it broad in its coverage?
    A. Major aspects:
For 136 miles, this can definitely have a longer "route" section. Try to look at some of the USRD featured articles for an example of what a good route description should look like.
    B. Focused:
    See above.
  4. Is it neutral?
    Fair representation without bias:
  5. Is it stable?
    No edit wars, etc:
  6. Does it contain images to illustrate the topic?
    A. Images are copyright tagged, and non-free images have fair use rationales:
    B. Images are provided where possible and appropriate, with suitable captions:
There is not one image in the article, instead all it has is just the 2 shields for 30 and 30A. Definitely an image of the highway or a map of the road would be helpful.
  7. Overall:
    Pass or Fail:

This article has a long way to go before being ready for GAN. For now, I have failed this article because it does not meet most criteria. Good luck. Mitch32contribs 20:54, 12 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
