Failed "good article" nomination

edit

This article failed good article nomination. This is how the article, as of June 20, 2009, compares against the six good article criteria:

1. Well written?: There are copyright violations throughout the article, specifically the blanket copying of promotional back-flap summaries for the books.
2. Factually accurate?: Host of original research, with supporting citations not supporting the assertions at all ("The book's version of O'Neil is much more of a straight soldier, while Jackson remains the idealistic maverick scientist" is not supported by [1], for example.
3. Broad in coverage?: No information about the reception or development of these novels.
4. Neutral point of view?: no apparent issues
5. Article stability? Pass
6. Images?: File:Stargate rebellion.jpg, File:1.1 - SG-1 - Gift of the Gods.jpg, and File:SGA Reliquary.jpg have fair use rationales, but they do not significantly increase reader understanding as required by WP:NFCC.

I would recommend serious reworking of the article before it is submitted again.

When these issues are addressed, the article can be renominated. If you feel that this review is in error, feel free to take it have it reassessed. Thank you for your work so far.— Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs (talk) 17:03, 20 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
