Far trade edit
Did you mean "far trade" or "fair trade"? Art LaPella (talk) 06:42, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
- Far trade. It was in the original source, but I haven't yet found the time to link to a corresponding Wikipedia article. It simply meant that shipping goods over any distance was made hard by this right (similar to the taxes you had to pay at every little dukedom on a landroute). Fragmented thinking edit
Why are there so many separate articles: The staple, Staple port, Staple (wool), Staple right, Merchants of the Staple? Dictionary thinking. An inclusive article should give concise summaries of each of these, set in a general context: encyclopedic thinking--Wetman (talk) 03:35, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
Merge proposal edit
The whole of the content of The Staple appears already to have been merged here, except external links, which can be added here (possibly as referneces). When that has been done, that article can become a redirect to this one. Peterkingiron (talk) 22:26, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
