- Agreed, there is no mention of the widespread poverty and famine that swept the nation during the Great Leap Forward. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 114.241.175.27 (talk) 09:07, 14 April 2011 (UTC)
- This is an unsourced and arbitrary essay. The subject is covered properly here, as it is for any other nation on Wikipedia. Karpouzi (talk) 08:08, 1 July 2011 (UTC)
Is this propaganda or something like that?
editNo citations at all, nothing about modern standings, all the article is written from the point of view "they are so poor! They have nothing to eat! Even if they have houses they could never afford them!" which is definitely not true. Chinese government is counting only money income (not natural income) for rural households which means that they are severe undertracked. They are counting poverty by market exchange rates instead of taking PPP into account. And what do we see here? Even darker picture. Complete crap.14.146.26.32 (talk) 15:06, 14 November 2014 (UTC)

Introduction lifted from http://countrystudies.us/china/97.htm as at 14th october 2009 consider rewording and referencing. Or just forget about it, it's not a big part of the artical anyway. |
