I think the weapon's designation should be reflected by the acronym as in all Nazi-era weapons. That is StG45(M) rather than the full name. Koalorka (talk) 18:38, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

The weapon actually never officially received the StG45(M) designation, though it apparently was internally being referred to as such by the Mauser design team and it almost certainly would've received that designation had the war lasted just a month or so longer. The official German designation at the war's end was still Gerät 06H. 207.98.198.84 (talk) 07:12, 23 November 2015 (UTC)

Short recoil?

If the barrel doesn't move it isn't a recoil action. It's a gas actuated, roller locked system.
