My point is just that, while "St. James Theatre" is ambiguous, "St. James Theatre (New Zealand)" is not. Because of the "(New Zealand)", there is no way that readers could arrive at this page by accident, so it is not necessary to direct them elsewhere. Melchoir 09:17, 25 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

So... I'll just remove the note again? Melchoir 18:43, 25 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

No, because as I stated in my edit summary, there is at least 1 other St. James theatre that I know of in New Zealand alone. There is also the St. James Theatre (at least 1) in America, another 2 in England. For example, cat (animal) & cat (scan) end differently (pretty poor example...) doesn't mean they shouldnb't be in a disambig together. Besides, I've already placed St. James in the St. James disambig. I'd appreciate you not creating an edit war out of such a punitive matter... Spawn Man 04:13, 26 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
If there are multiple theatres in New Zealand, that's no problem; I will move the article to St. James Theatre (Wellington). I am not proposing that we remove any pages for the disambiguation page. But the articles that that page link to should not link back to it unless their titles -- or the titles of their redirects-- are ambiguous themselves. If you need evidence that this is a completely standard practice on Wikipedia... I see that this article is in Category:Concert halls. Following is a full list of other articles that have parenthetical disambiguation in their titles:
See a pattern? Melchoir 05:48, 26 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
By the way, I would ordinarily agree that this is a small matter, but this article is going to be on the front page, and human nature suggests that it will therefore be widely imitated. Melchoir 06:00, 26 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
I don't get what you're talking about. Sounds like blather to me. Anyway, seems good what you've done so far. I was thinking of changing it to wellington anyway. Don't know why it can't be, but I'm fine now. Spawn Man 09:55, 26 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
