Talk:Speedy Haworth

WP:MEMORIAL edit

A marketing company named Stardog Management has been repeatedly, since at least 2010, adding promotional and WP:MEMORIAL content to this article. Their account Stardog_mgmt (talk · contribs) was blocked last year, but they have continued to edit under various IPs to re-add the inappropriate information. If anyone else is watching this article, I'd like to see if I can get a loose consensus that this material does not belong here so I am not simply edit warring with someone. In particular, I've removed (repeatedly) this content attempting to promote Speedy Haworth's non-notable niece and text appearing to be copied from Haworth's obituary. --Spike Wilbury (talk) 14:11, 7 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Stardog Management is not nor was ever a marketing company. Stardog booked bands and musicians who were not signed to a major or indie label. It is no longer in business and was owned by Susan Hubbard who has retired and now has terminal cancer. Susan Hubbard is related to Speedy Haworth as his neice. His mother Martha was married to Susan Hubbard's grandfather Everett Baty, thus making Speedy Susan's uncle by marriage. Stormie Haworth, who is a reputable musician and locally known managed by Susan's company is thus related to Speedy by marriage. Shirley Jean Haworth has given express permission to Stormie Haworth to use the Haworth name after hearing Stormie's extensive playing of the guitar and the original music she has written. I also am not edit warring with anyone but merely trying to clear up the name of Stormie Haworth as reputable and the fact that Stardog was not a marketing company trying to promote any one person in particular. Though I am not quite sure why Stormie has been the one seemingly ridiculed it seems that may be what happened and thus perhaps Speedy's name slandered. Shirley Haworth can be contacted at this email to verify things starworth1@aol.com and the Wikipedia was only published as a Wiki for Speedy since he was a noted musician in his right. Not for any other reason nor to bring harm or notoriety to Stardog Management. I don't know any other Spike Wilbury but the one who in real life was George Harrison and is now deceased, so we are not even sure what Mr. Wilbury has to do with this. Thank you. Well thanks for clearing up who Stardog is, but you haven't really cleared up why Wikipedia accounts are continuously registered under the Stardog name unless it is to imply they have some official connection with it. At any rate, yet another new account showed up today (probably the same person) trying to push WP:MEMORIAL content into the article. I encourage you to review that page to see why it is not appropriate for Wikipedia. Additionally, pointing out that Stormie Haworth is not a notable musician is not "ridiculing" her. No one has been ridiculed or slandered on this page, so please knock off the hyperbole. --Spike Wilbury (talk) 13:02, 12 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
