Silicon sound speed wrong

The silicon sound speed appears to be wrong; should be closer to 5 km/s for transverse and 8.8 km/s for longitudinal. The Web Elements site does indeed cite 2.2 km/s, but this doesn't match up with anything else I can find. --Reuben 02:12, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

Confirmed that Samsonov does give 2200 m/s. But others don't agree, for instance Dieulesaint & Royer, Elastic waves in solids. --Reuben 22:42, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

Confirmed. Listed the correct longitudinal and transverse speeds. These are calculated from experimental values of C11=165.64e9 Pa, C44=79.51e9 Pa and rho=2.329e3 kg/m^3, as cl=sqrt(C11/rho) and ct = sqrt(C44/rho). Removed the 2200 value from "use" Huntjohn (talk) 09:30, 4 June 2014 (UTC)

"Use" rows

Should the rows labelled "Use" in the tables be removed? We don't generally carry unsourced recommendations as to which of a number of conflicting sources is "right": Bhunacat10 (talk), 12:28, 27 January 2019 (UTC)

Kr and Xe gases

From here: 221 m/s and 178 m/s respectively. (Which suggests from calculation that Rn should be ~140 m/s, as I noted at Talk:Xenon/Archive 1#Speed of sound in xenon gas.) Double sharp (talk) 06:36, 1 July 2019 (UTC)

remove APIH section?
