Plot
edit>>Pfc. Stuckey (Smith) who had fired blanks at the Cajuns causing the whole crisis, runs for the helicopter but is caught in quicksand and presumably drowns.
Legacy
editAccording to the Aliens making of documentary this film (directed by Aliens producer Walter Hill) was a big influence on the Aliens storyline. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.72.234.211 (talk) 05:51, 26 May 2012 (UTC)
- Indeed. I saw that in the bonus footage for Aliens too. The question is, is this info important enough to be mentioned in this article? I mean, many films are inspirations for many later films. Do we mention in the article for Hitchcock's Psycho all the movies that this film influenced? There would be too many I believe, but especially, that "science" (of this influenced that) is probably not well documented and can easily turn into speculation.--Munin75 (talk) 00:28, 6 October 2012 (UTC)
Soundtrack
editAccording to the closing credits the soundtrack "is available.... etc...". However, I believe it was never released and only a few tracks eventually became available on a Ry Cooder compilation album. Does anyone know why it was not released when, apparently, it was clearly intended to be? Stephenjh (talk) 18:09, 20 January 2014 (UTC)

edit"The film was shortened to 135 minutes ..."
Given that its stated running time is 105 minutes, how could that be a shortening? Perhaps the editor in question meant 1 hour and 35 minutes? Daniel Case (talk) 01:51, 25 May 2020 (UTC)
Iranian Version
editI am not disputing the possibility of a government sponsored edit, but a single cite to a video sharing site is a less than useful source. Either some English or Persian news sources on this would be better. Jmackaerospace (talk) 23:32, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
