About redirect

@BD2412:

I don't get it why so many people think it should be redirected to Northern and southern China. Please compare with its counterpart, Northern China. Saying North and South (as a reader searching keywords in Wikipedia) is always generic and non-specific, if not weasel, and therefore disambiguation has to be presented each time. I know that Northern and southern China is a good and clear article -- it's in fact even better than that on zh.wiki; but it is still included in South China, so why not just redirect to South China? What is lost?

Actually, I think the best solution would be to make an article on the concept of Southern China (compare Southern United States, Northern Europe, Central Asia, Northern Australia). This is not an ambiguous topic, per WP:DABCONCEPT. bd2412 T 20:28, 19 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Well ... that's gonna be a well basket of subtle work ... I'll try to come up with a better taxonomical canon than the current state. SzMithrandir (talk) 20:45, 20 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

I agree, it's a lot of work - but it is always a lot of work to write a good and worthwhile article. bd2412 T 20:54, 20 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
