I had an extremely difficult time trying to determine the identity of the writers of "Little Boy" on Track 4. Part of the problem was that there were many different songs recorded over the decades with the same title. I finally found a reference to the writer as Ella Fitzgerald, and I've heard her version of the song where she was credited as the writer. However, In the album, "Live at Zardi's," (1956) a club in Hollywood, Fitzgerald introduces the song and credits the arrangement as Nat King Cole's. I couldn't find any reference to him as the writer or singer. However, I found he recorded "Little Girl" in 1948 and it made #25 in the singles charts, that year. Fitzgerald had just changed the name of the gender. Searching further, I found that the song was originally recorded as "Little Girl" in 1931 by Eubie Blake and others. The writers of the words and music were Madeline (also spelled "Madelyne" by one source) Hyde and Francis Henry.
