The result of the move request was: Move. The argument that this is the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC seems well supported, and arguments to that effect were not challenged. Cúchullain t/c 17:50, 6 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Sirsa, HaryanaSirsa – Clear WP:PRIMARYTOPIC of Sirsa. Nearly all are looking for this page when they search for Sirsa as per page view statistics. Filpro (talk) 18:11, 26 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

  • Support per PLACEDAB: If a place is the primary topic for the title that is most appropriate by these naming conventions, then its article should carry that name without disambiguation tag. Exception is made here for the US, where adding the state name is standard. If the title of every place name article had to contain the name of its state or region, there would be a heck of a lot of page moves to do. Four more here and that's just one district of one state in one nation. When we move on to developed countries, one region of Italy yields well over 1,000 to do: Noyster (talk), 11:33, 27 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Including details about Dera Sacha Sauda in this article

edit

Emphasising on the fact that Dera Sacha Sauda is the main/only attraction of Sirsa, it is necessary that we include details about this organisation in the main description and/or in the history section of this page. Jurisdictions are not the final judgements, and the head of the cult has yet been convicted by the trials court only. However, even if you tend to believe the orders, this cult should be treated separately from Gurmeet Ram Rahim, considering the fact that Dera Sacha Sauda is registered as a trust, and carries out welfare activites and spiritual programs and controls and manages its hospitals, schools and colleges on its own (via huge management team) with minimal interference by Gurmeet Ram Rahim (who just provides guidance and initiates and participates in the humanitarian and spiritual activities) Amratjeet Singh Insan (talk) 17:32, 4 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

It will be better to add/expand a section on Dera Sacha Sauda in the article body similar to this first. However claims like the city is only "famous for" having the headquarters of the cult would require it to be widely sourced (explicitly). Even the Allahabad (a GA status article) doesn't boast of hosting the Prayag Kumbh Mela which is an ancient religious practice. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 17:51, 4 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

I believe adding words like "social welfare" and "spiritual" would make it more aptly described. Secondly, Dera Sacha Sauda is a trust I guess, and so we need to make changes to its original article (which also claims it to be an NGO) to reflect the changes here. And apart from this, can we also add details about famous politicians like Gopal Kanda and Chautalas having their mansions built in this city? Amratjeet Singh Insan (talk) 17:19, 6 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

There are few policies in Wikipedia, WP:NEUTRAL, WP:UNDUE, for example, as per which we cannot add unsourced content and glorification in an article. As for the Dera Sacha Sauda, I took the NGO part from the article. Mentioning 'mansions' of 'famous' politicians is trivial, thus WP:UNDUE, but we can always mention names of notable individuals (those who have Wikipedia articles) in the article, however you have to have sirsa or any other city for that matter clearly sourced in the individuals article. Gopal Goyal Kanda, for example has "Sirsa" sourced in it, so I'll add it. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 17:31, 6 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

could you please make changes to the wikipedia page of Rahul Vaidya...it doesn't seems to be well sorted. Amratjeet Singh Insan (talk) 17:46, 6 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

I'll try. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 18:29, 6 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
