Military service? edit

I have raised a citation need against the statement he became Warden at Attingham Park after doing 'his wartime military service' (ie in WWII). It needs demonstrating what form that service was. Based on a biographical leaflet I read at Bear Steps Gallery in Shrewsbury a few years back I understood he was a conscientious objector who did alternative civilian work. I wonder what reference works like Who Was Who and Debrett or Burke's Peerage have to say about his wartime years?Cloptonson (talk) 08:32, 10 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
