He appears to have been held in some esteem in Scotland, sufficient for the City Council's of both Glasgow and Aberdeen to invite him to become a Burgess of those cities. I could research him further but time is the problem and it is flagged as a stub, so maybe someone else could have a go? David Lauder 19:44, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

- I am not of that family so don't know much about him, although living in Scotland they are a well-known family. Maybe the councils concerned (and himself) were not aware he was about to die! Maybe someone else could check him out further? David Lauder 20:07, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
