This article is essentially some fan of Yusuf Ali's opinion about Shuaib's identity. From my experience, it is a minor opinion. I think the obsession with it in the article destroys the article's NPOV. --Ephilei (talk) 01:40, 30 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

I agree... the article is 80% quotation of footnotes of a 1946 translation of the Qur'an, which is hardly conclusive and certainly not informed... I recommend we reduce all the quotes to a citation plus a declarative sentence - "Some commentators do not agree on the identity of Shu'ayb and Jethro, such as translator Yusuf Ali. < ref >" Should I just do it? em zilch (talk) 21:35, 31 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Part of a series on Shi'ah Islam?

edit

Shouldn't the article be part of the series on Islam (in general)?Senantiasa (talk) 08:48, 10 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

I agree - as a Twelver Shi'a, I feel strongly that this should be part of the series on Islam in general, as Prophet Shoaib (AS), or Jethro from the Bible, is in the Holy Qur'an and is therefore important to ALL Muslims, not just Shia Muslims.
