What language is this word in? Yiddish? Hebrew? Badagnani 07:12, 21 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

What century? edit

At first it says, "A Shtadlan ... represented interests of the local Jewish community ... in Medieval Europe.

A bit later, it says, "The Shtadlan emerged in the 17th century."

I am confused. Please explain. 75.84.97.215 11:44, 7 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

In Hebrew, is it shtadlan (שתדלן) or shadlan (שדלן)? edit

The current version of the article says the Hebrew word is shadlan (שדלן), but in English and Yiddish it is cited as shtadlan (שתדלן), with a t (ת) after the sh (ש). Is this correct? If so, can someone explain the discrepancy (preferably in the article)? If not, can someone please fix this? 78.43.40.201 (talk) 12:45, 23 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
