Ashley?

edit

"As with many other names (Ashley, Courtney, etc.), Shelley is today a name given almost exclusively to girls after historically being male."

Is Ashley predominantly female enough to be worthy of this statement now? Here in England, I grew up to regard Ashley as a primarily male name. Though looking on Ashley (name), it seems to shift from usually male to usually female around 1981, though I don't suppose it's significant enough to consider Ashley rare as a male name now. Though this also depends on the level of systemic bias in that list. What do people think? — Smjg (talk) 22:19, 24 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
