Old discussion with no section heading
editThe construction and design of shells is complex and somewhat of an art. Someone who understands acoustics and/or has experience designing shells may have more to contribute. 48v 20:00, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
- The one in my theatre is pretty ugly and beat up- Shot of Symphony Orchestra performing at Distric IX Festival, on March 18, 2006
I desgined the lights and am the tech for this performance. Its not my fault the lights are showing on curtain and wall. But unimportant. --KeepOnTruckin 12:30, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
I fixed the caption on the image, and should fix the issues. Out of my experiences with setting up a shell, the one that we have is terrible as well. Referring to the lights on the stage, the lights projecting on the stage looked nice, at least when the picture was taken. --Compuguy1088 03:09, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

Expert tag seems unneeded
editThis is a stub, and seems fine as is. The stub-flag should be warning enough.Shajure (talk) 15:59, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
Bandshell has just been redirected to this article. However (AIUI) bandshells are an outdoor feature as a free-standing structure, shells within theatres are an acoustic device within another building. Is this an appropriate merge? Andy Dingley (talk) 18:53, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
- Actually, it wasn't a merge, it was a redirect. I liked the SAs, and copied them. "Bandshell" is a word for a usually-outdoor acoustic shell. WP is not a dictionary. I think that a better main article, if one is needed at all, might be "acoustic shell", possibly with sections for sorts that are discussed in books, trade press, news articles. All of these seem to have a notability problems though, even for a section. Shajure (talk) 21:57, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
