Tex-Mex sound?

"...the track has a Tex-Mex sound."

I would dearly love to know what the writer means by that. I don't hear anything but a common 1-4-5 blues progression (which the writer describes as "a 12-bar blues structure").

It's not the maracas, is it?

Quite possibly. At the time of writing it, I was copying a lot of text from other Wikipedia articles and this wasn't referenced. Ask the writer of Sir Douglas Quintet.--Laun chba ller 11:05, 20 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
