Scotland missing
edit""Shale gas in the United Kingdom""" that's the title but no mention of Scotland. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:C7D:6938:2400:C170:BAD3:F2B1:6CA9 (talk) 09:25, 3 December 2015 (UTC)
Kennywpara - conflict of interest/advocacy/activism
edit@Kennywpara: Because of your COI as an advocate/activist and counterproductive contributions to the Hydraulic fracturing in the United Kingdom article (see Talk:Hydraulic_fracturing_in_the_United_Kingdom), you are now asked to refrain from editing this article, and confine yourself to suggesting edits on this talk page for other editors to action. Shale gas development and population density.
editThis information on population density was removed from the article by Kennywpara.[6]. It needs to be moved to either Shale gas if not already included there in some form or another, or edited to remove the US comparison and placed Shale gas in the United Kingdom. The new link for the citation is here(PDF)
The difference is that in the UK shale gas extraction may be nearer much greater densities of populations compared to the US resulting in much more noticeable impact.[1]

- This was from a dated report from CIWEM that is a dead link. It has nothing to do with chemical usage and permissions which is what this page is all about. References like that could be in other sections of an article on environmental impact, however those sections have up to date information. Kennywpara (talk) 07:10, 14 April 2017 (UTC)
- Here is something from CIWEM more recent and relevant, @LutherBlissetts: Luther Blissetts regarding the US EPA report. link It identifies many potential areas of pollution, but these are the areas where the RAE report and the HSE have been involved to ensure these risks do not become events. Pollution by deep fracking in a properly sealed well is not mentioned. Kennywpara (talk) 07:55, 14 April 2017 (UTC)
Reserves reporting
editHi @Geneus01: - Good to point out that there are no reserves reported for shale gas in the UK - but you do it twice and you don't distinguish between reserves and resource estimates. It may be worth qualifying what you mean.Guy WF Loftus (talk) 12:03, 6 April 2022 (UTC)
- As an SME in petroleum exploration, I recommend you consult the SPE Petroleum Resource Management System [7], which was updated in 2018. Guy WF Loftus (talk) 12:18, 6 April 2022 (UTC)
- thanks @Guy WF Loftus: - I think I know where you are coming from. The hydrocarbon reserves reporting page is confused in Wikipedia (perhaps it needs cleaning up by an SME). I will give your suggestions careful thought.Geneus01 (talk) 18:45, 6 April 2022 (UTC)
- I have changed my edits along the lines you advised - thanks for the guidance @Guy WF Loftus:.Geneus01 (talk) 06:10, 7 April 2022 (UTC)
