Primary:secondary::investment:speculation edit
The primary market is an investment market; the money goes to the company. The secondary market is a speculative market; money does not reach the company, it merely pays off the gamble made by speculative investors and pure speculators.
Reasonable doubt? edit
Is there an example of a (popular) primary financial market which is not a secondary market as well? Nshuks7 (talk) 19:05, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
Securities and Financial Instruments edit
The definition of Securities include Derivatives, and the definition of Financial Instruments include both Securities and Derivatives.
