Jewish Residents percentage

edit

There seems to be no mention that the majority of Residents are Jewish (80% in 1988) http://www.nytimes.com/1988/04/17/realestate/if-you-re-thinking-of-living-in-sea-gate.html?pagewanted=all&src=pm

Sea Gate info

edit

Hey - Im a resident of Sea Gate - and have some useful information. Yes you can fish on the beach either after hours during the winter or legally with a fishing permit (sold by the Sea Gate Association).

The beach has been eroding so much as of late that the original world war II gun turrets (not sure if they were anti-air or for coastal canons) are emerging from the sand to the pre-replenishment levels. The Army Core of Engineers has some info on the web. Currently they are planning another erosion prevention project, the installation of several T-Groins on the beaches inside sea gate - but they are very expensive and currently do not have the funding. I have some ideas on this - but my specialty is electrical energy, not structures. [1]

There is also a seagatefriendsandfamily yahoogroup for residents. Its not used well currently, but I know the moderator and I added a few history files that are excerpts from the popular book, Coney Island Lost and Found, by Charles Denson. I can email these to anyone who is interested - they are very interesting, and Im sure there is more - we have somewhat of a historian in the gate - but not sure how to reach him (if he has email!).

Please let me know if you have more questions!

Regards,

There are no skateboard ramps in the park they were removed. Zelig347 (talk) 21:40, 8 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

I've removed the mention of skateboard ramps and tagged the section as unreferenced. Rivertorch (talk) 06:17, 9 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

The phrase ". . . Sea Gate property owners included the Morgan, Dodge family, and Vanderbilt families." is grammatically incorrect, and should be changed to read "Sea Gate property owners included the Morgan, Dodge, and Vanderbilt families."

On the assumption that it is Sea Gate residents who have caused this page to be "protected," one might be justified in assuming that Sea Gate residents are not the most educated or articulate New Yorkers. 69.10.244.11 (talk) 20:44, 4 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Done, your unwarranted and baseless editorializing notwithstanding. —KuyaBriBriTalk 21:03, 4 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Pseudonym?

@JTTF: I honestly do not understand what you are trying to convey with Special:Diff/1067356767 as the text added to the article is not grammatical English. Also, the link in the reference is dead, but even if it worked it appears to just be the home page of the police department. Rublov (talk) 02:26, 23 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
