Talk:Sanghyang Siksa Kandang Karesian

Latest comment: 15 years ago by SatuSuro

I haven't found any rules that states all articles edition of this Wikipedia should be entitled in English, so I disagree to move this article into English. It is ridiculous to say that "Sundanese language titles are meaningless". Are Latin/Greek/Javanese/Malay/Arabic/Polski titles also meaningless? Please redirect this article to original name. --kandar (talk) 03:32, 1 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

I do agree with brother Kandar.--Serayu 04:40, 1 August 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ciserayu (talkcontribs)

There are conventions - please help make Wikipedia Indonesia a better place with more accesible items - please help make a better translation of what it is in english and create a redirect page for the article SatuSuro 06:23, 2 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Where are the conventions? No, keep the original title. We can take an example, such as article about the Qur'an, is it using English translation such as the Recitation? DiN (talk) 15:35, 2 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

The point seems to be lost on all three editors - leave it its not worth the arguing - but at least give an accurate trnaslation ine english and create a redirect as well SatuSuro 15:37, 2 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

I was about to make the translation in the article, but last week it was forgotten. Today I realize that the translation is already in the article (....The tittle means something like "Book of rules for the state of resi (wise or holy man)"....), so it should be enough for the title and we can continue working with the content itself. --kandar (talk) 05:20, 4 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

My apologies if I was kurang sopan - many articles would mean nothing at all to english speaking readers - it probably needs more context as well - please also note the new category 'Sundanese culture' - I do hope that helps to put context to some articles SatuSuro 05:26, 4 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

That's true, but we didn't translate -- for example -- Nagarakretagama into something in English title. We treat it as a name, and it was already popular with that name. Thank you for your help. --kandar (talk) 10:57, 4 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
I think if this article was referred to from other articles - as in links from other articles - it could be argued that the original language title is ok - but it would have to be linked with more than two or three other articles - unlinked i think it would need an english title redirect page SatuSuro 11:05, 4 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
