Dr. Koushika is a leading neuroscientist in India. Her research on transport within nerve cells (axonal transport) is well renowned among neuroscientists in India, and abroad- supported by the fact that she is the only Indian scientist in the prestigious 'International Early Career' awards by the Howard Hughes Institute in USA in 2012. All of this information is included in her wiki page.

She is a stellar example of young women scientists in India. Her page, among other women scientists, are being created to increase online profile of Indian women scientists.
