California International Airshow edit

The California International Airshow dates have move around in the last 20 years, or so. At one time they took place in late September or early October. For 2009 it is set for August 7-9. I can only guess the reasons, as the official Web site doesn't discuss the matter. Most likely, it is due to Fleet Week in San Francisco competing for October attendance, reinstated in 1981 after a hiatus of 46 years, and the mid-September Reno Air Races competing for mid-September attendance. It's a tough venue, as summer weather in the Salinas area is marked by coastal fog that persists until almost noon every day, and the weather deteriorates by mid-October, with arrival of rain in some years.
