Life Force arcade game...merged or seperate edit

Life force arcade merged or seperatE? Are there enough changes to warrent that? I think life force, since its not that much different, shoudl be kept in this article, to keep in context. --Larsinio 19:28, 21 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

I'd opt fpr merged since the changes in question are basically just cosmetics. Personally I think it's just a touched up version as opposed to a new game some websites suggest. It has been common practice for developers to introduce changes or 'improvements' during the process of localizing games for new markets. Vic Vipr 20:48, 21 November 2005 (UTC)Reply
What the F*CK do you think you're doing, deleting an entire article?!? You DO NOT delete an entire page simply to concentrate on a different game. --L. 15:08, 25 November 2005 (UTC)Reply
Yo chill out, we dont even know what your talking about. Wheres your wikipedia spirit? Give users the benefit of a doubt --Larsinio 15:52, 25 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Performed merge edit

Merge performed as one game (Life Force) is simply an alteration to the other (Salamander). Since Salamander was released first, Life Force was merged here. KyuuA4 (talk) 08:29, 5 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

arcade game vs. msx game edit

i'm deleting some msx stuff, the article should imo be general info, not cheat codes etc. {{Marminnetje 03:15, 7 November 2005 (UTC)}}Reply

Intruder's "four flaming tentacles" edit

This is minute. In the NES version, Intruder's arms are not flaming — they're just chains of circles that imply metal machinery. It's pretty clear since the game does such a good job representing fire earlier in that level and in level 3. If it's not different in any of the other versions, that detail needs to go.

The arcade game (Salamander) is used as a basis for the article and version differences can be added in the Life Force sub-section. —Vic Vipr 12:54, 30 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Stop moving the Levels and Bosses for the NES game into the Lifeforce section edit

The levels and bosses in the arcade version are different from those in the NES/Famicom ports. The arcade levels and bosses are identical to the arcade version of Salamander other than graphical changes. The NES/Famicom games are more a remix and have altered levels, new levels, and new bosses. This is why the Levels and Bosses section belongs under the NES port section. Are the NES/Famicom levels different from the arcade Life Force? -Vic Vipr 06:40, 26 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Salamander 03.png edit

Image:Salamander 03.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Potential merge edit

Maybe this should be included in the Gradius article? --XC3N — Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.169.202.4 (talkcontribs) 00:18, 7 September 2005‎

This page should be merged into Salamander (arcade game), as its just covering a port which is almost EXACTLY the same, except for plot. --larsinio 20:34, 13 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Agreed {Marminnetje 23:34, 18 November 2005 (UTC)}Reply
Agreed. This article is not notable apart from its connection to Salamander. It doesn't need more explanation than a section within the article. czar · · 08:29, 18 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
  • Support, it should just be an added section to the main salamander video game article. Magicperson6969 (talk) 07:24, 3 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

European Version edit

Is there a reliable source that states the European version was released as "Life Force: Salamander"? I'm from the UK and I played this game in a number of arcades in the late '80s and early '90s and it was simply called "Salamander" (like the Japanese version). I also owned the the C64 port (on cassette!), which was also called simply called "Salamander". 86.157.247.6 (talk) 11:22, 3 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Further to this, the Development section correctly states that the game was released in Europe with the same title as the Japanese version and both versions are almost identical (which contradicts the incorrect title given in the lede). I shall correct the lede to make the article consistent. 86.157.247.6 (talk) 11:27, 3 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
