Curriculum and Elective Subjects

edit

I briefly added the subjects that the school offers but then I soon realises that having an extensive list of subjects is against Wikipedias rules as stated in the WikiProjects Schools/Article advice that states [1]

"Provide a brief description of the school's curriculum. Does it follow a national or state curriculum or does it set its own subjects? Focus specifically on aspects of the curriculum which are unique to the school. Is it the only school in the locality which teaches Mandarin, Latin or Greek? Does it have a culinary academy? Do not make long lists of every subject taught - people can get that from the school's brochure or website"

However, I have kept the list of the subjects on my computer so I will probably just add the subjects that are unique to the school when I have time to further edit this Wikipedia article.

Housemaster's Names

edit

I wonder whether it is necessary to state the names of the housemasters - the names are irrelevant. Jpeob 09:31, 19 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

I disagree, I think it is important to document these things, to expand the article fully —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 202.146.15.20 (talkcontribs) 04:24, 19 June 2006.

Amnesty International

edit

In regards to the citation needed for Amnesty international, the reason for closure was withdrawal of MIC (Master in Charge) due to personal beliefs. This meant that the club was unable to continue until a new MIC was found. The board of directors ruled in favour of restoring AI indefinitely into the future. Some students are currently engaged in finding a new staff member to act as amnesty international MIC. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.172.208.68 (talk) 11:38, 7 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

we and you should?

edit

This article has been written using language in the second person which makes reading the article feels like an advert and as if it is being promoted by wikipedia. the article whould be written in the third person to remobe these ambiguaties and to bring the page in to a more professional article.84.66.55.218 20:37, 19 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

I disagree. The only place where it says "we" in the article is in the "Preferred futures" section. Even so, every time "we" is used here, it is used within a quotation where someone is talking using that terminology. Further, there is no use of "you should" at all across the article. This article, while comprehensive, is plainly not an advert. Cheers, Jpeob 03:20, 21 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

you do realise that saying "we" is not actually using second person, it is first person pural. By reading the article is can be clearly seen that its all in third person which can be seen by the use of pronouns such as; it he she and they. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.170.84.196 (talk) 07:31, 20 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
