Most of the information in this article appears in the Times Obituary, but we do need to provide better sourcing for some of this info. I just undid an edit that claimed that Thorndike broke some sort of record for appearing in a bunch of performances in a very short time. A nice piece of info, but it seems without context, and does not contain a citation. I think what we really need here is someone from Britain with access to a library system to look up some articles on the man, since there is very little (if any) published literature on him.
