Symbols

Bloomberg ticker is RIY Index Reuters ticker is .RYY

RUI.X looks like Reuters RIC but it is not.

I noticed that one entry in the component list has a different symbol (AMBP) than Blackrock's website (ARD). More interestingly, your symbol is up to date, whereas Blackrock's symbol is delisted ( ? ) The component list cites the Blackrock website as source, but updates it? @Gnahz99 Blackrock lists both AMBP (ARDAGH METAL PACKAGING SA) and ARD (ARDAGH GROUP SA CLASS A) ticker symbols for Ardagh. I can't speculate as to why ARD is still shown on their site since it no longer trades. The wiki site only lists AMBP since it still trades. Blackrock also lists "ESC GCI LIBERTY INC SR ESCROW" as an equity security for IWB but I don't list it. That should be the only difference between Wikipedia and Blackrock.

I compare the Blackrock and Wikipedia component lists manually at least a few times a year and make any updates. I wish there was a more automated way to make the changes. The big update is required in late June each year after the reconstitution of the Russell 1000, 2000 and 3000 indexes. Hope this helps. Ksu6500 (talk) 21:17, 3 April 2024 (UTC)

Thanks! I see from FTSE (link) that "Ardagh Metal Packaging" is listed as a single entry, and no mention of "ESC" "ESCROW" or "GCI". I wonder if the BlackRock ETF is not required to match the index exactly. Gnahz99 (talk) 22:15, 4 April 2024 (UTC)

Does anyone object to using more than one column for this information? That way it could be sorted by name or symbol.

Incorrect Link

Adding GICS data

As Industry Classification Benchmark data is not readily available. May be more fitting to have the ICB data as it is a FTSE Russell index. Please let me know if this can be found publicly/easily anywhere. JulesNautilus (talk) 04:11, 20 August 2022 (UTC)

A sector column is available for each component on the iShares site in the Holdings section. I assume this sector is the GICS sector but can't find a description anywhere on the site. I have never been able to find sub-industry data anywhere. S&P used to provide it for additions to their indexes but stopped a few years ago. Ksu6500 (talk) 19:39, 20 August 2022 (UTC)
