Possum Kingdom is a lake in North Texas. The song is about a murder that happened at Possum Kingdom Lake. The band also hails from Texas.

Actual town!

Possum Kingdom is the name of a very small town in South Carolina. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 216.203.6.12 (talk) 15:00, 8 March 2007 (UTC).Reply

I have taken out "post-grunge" and put in "Alternative rock" and "grunge". I mean, i know that the Toadies are known as a post band, but this album (which I own, and, coincidentily am listening to right now) and I don't belive it to be "post-grunge" in any way. Any objectors with a good argument and I will revert back. Really, I think we should at least keep "Alternative rock" and "grunge". Theme

edit

This is a theme album that deals with vampires. The lyrics to (almost) every song are connected and deal with the plot of a girl falling in love with a vampire (eat your heart out, Stephenie Meyer). The song "Possum Kingdom" has nothing to do with murder at a lake, it has to do with a girl agreeing (or perhaps not) to become an immortal vampire. Other songs deal with the girl's desire to break ties with the vampire (Quitter) and eventually killing and cremating him (Velvet, I Burn). If you want citations, you'll have to listen to the entire album. 173.66.226.20 (talk) 01:06, 23 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
