I'm afraid I get lost when trying to understand what Wikipedia considers "notability". Can an editor not just google "Ronald Horan" and see that he has contributed greatly to Australian society? Someone thought him notable enough to be awarded an OAM. Also, his language textbooks were (may still be) in use around the world and he contributed greatly to the design and development of the Language Laboratory built by Philips.

He taught German to The Honourable Justice Michael Kirby who wrote the preface to Ron's book on the history of Fort Street "Maroon & Silver".
