The Roger Lowenstein who blogs on Huffington is not the same Roger Lowenstein as is in this article.

I don't understand why Lowenstein is listed as a "Jewish-American journalist"? While he may well be Jewish, he does not write on Jewish topics. Not removing the category at this time but I'd appreciate some feeback on this. --Mantanmoreland 12:22, 14 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

I've removed the category mentioned above, since it appears inappropriate and there is no evidence in the article that he is Jewish.--Mantanmoreland 16:08, 1 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

I agree with Mantanmoreland. Good call to remove that category. Chris Quackenbush 11:19, 3 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

'Family life'

edit

I've removed a lengthy section, unsourced, that provides purported details of this person's private life. This requires sourcing and is disproportionate to the size of the article. WP:BLP.If it can be sourced, either independently or from Lowenstein himself, then by all means add back in proper quantity.--Mantanmoreland 02:57, 19 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • I've added this section back. I think in a biographical article family details are relevant. These details are from a personal interview with Matt Lowenstein, Roger's eldest son. I am not sure how that is cited.Chris Quackenbush 16:40, 21 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
They can't be cited, or used, because original research is not permitted, particularly concerning living persons. Please read through WP:OR, WP:V and WP:RS. --Mantanmoreland 22:22, 21 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
This is no original research. This is simply information on Roger Lowenstein from Lowenstein's family. Do you really think that this has to be printed on a book jacket before it can appear here? What about being published on facebook.com? It is. Wikipedia uses many Internet sources. How do you feel about that? Chris Quackenbush 17:39, 13 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
There was no sourcing in this edit.[1] While it is not controversial, it has to verifiable per WP:V. Also the career section should come first in the article. I do not know if facebook, if that is the source, is acceptable. Also is it really necessary to say he splits his time between X and Y? I think that is getting a bit personal. This bio does need to be expanded considerably but that should be with a discussion of his work. Personal details can and should be mentioned if sourced, but should be secondary to his achievements.--Mantanmoreland 17:09, 14 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Not Barbara Corday's husband

edit

This Roger Lowenstein is unrelated to Barbara Corday's husband (who is a different person with the same name) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mpearl (talkcontribs) 01:30, 20 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
