Notable publications are:[according to whom?]

edit

The publications have been selected based on the impact factor. The impact factor (IF) of an academic journal is a measure reflecting the average number of citations to recent articles published in the journal. It is frequently used as a proxy for the relative importance of a journal within its field, with journals with higher impact factors deemed to be more important than those with lower ones. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Impact_Factor). Therefore, the publication list of Rod Lim contains a selection of papers which have been published in the highest ranked journals. --Indlekoferw (talk) 08:01, 15 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

  • The IF is a very crude and unreliable metric to measure the impact, and even less the quality, of an individual article. A more reliable way of determining notable papers would be if somebody had written about Lim and mentioned some papers as especially noteworthy (but we generally have to wait until we have an obituary before we get something like that for an academic) or, for example, list those articles that have been cited most frequently. And just 3-5 (max) would be fine. --Randykitty (talk) 14:32, 15 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

The information comes from a reliable source. The website is from an institute which belongs to the University of Basel. This is a public university which is owned by the state. So I don't see any problem with COI. There are no financial interests. If more sources will be available they can still used to be better references. --Micha 12:07, 8 September 2015 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Micha L. Rieser (talkcontribs) Reply
