Origin of name edit

Rock salt & nails is a song by American folksinger Utah Philips. It has been covered by artists including Joan Baez, Buddy Miller and Willie Watson. Is the song the origin of the name of this Shetland band?Dean1954 (talk) 22:50, 22 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

According to the band itself: http://www.folkworld.eu/9/e/rsn.html "We had a gig, and we needed a name for the paper, but we didn't know one. We were really struggling because it had to be in the paper for the next day at ten o'clock. We started reading things, just reading anything - newspapers, magazines, books, instructions for video recorders. It became really silly - we were nearly called the Swinging Cowboys. We were reading the back of a record sleeve, and the second track on the second side was called Rock Salt & Nails, written by a Canadian writer called Gordon Lightfoot. We all looked up and we went ‚that's it!'" Sofafernsehfan (talk) 14:09, 6 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

1991 Tape edit

Produced by "Magnetic North Recordings". I've found traces in online record stores and I remember the cover as being the one the show.Sofafernsehfan (talk) 14:09, 6 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
