Talk:Robert J. Myers

Robert Myers was NOT a politician but an actuary. He was a civil servant who rose to be SSA's Chief Actuary, a post he resigned in 1970 because he thought that the actuarial management of the SS program was deteriorating in an irresponsible way. After his resignation, he was Professor at Temple University for a number of years. He and Wilbur Cohen were the chief architects of SS during its first 3-4 decades. These facts are well known; see, for instance, Schieber and Shoven's The Real Deal (Yale Univ. Press 1999). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 111.69.242.200 (talk) 00:39, 29 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
