Why were the Ring of Fire companies deleted from the disambiguation page? 69.248.24.179 (talk) 16:29, 5 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Because the term "Ring of Fire" was not found in the article. Chrisrus (talk) 06:27, 20 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for letting us know that there are these other films by this name. We have articles only about the third one and the last one. I don't see any point in listing the others because we only list here articles by the same or similar names, and there are no articles about these other movies. But should there be? I don't know if they are notable films, and only notable things should have articles. If they are notable films, they should first get articles and then at that point should be added to the page. Hurting at start of birth edit

In the comment to video "Unassisted Home birth of Lotus-Alaya Lavyndur Tookes 7/11/09"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhbng6RNh9I

of youtube-user "mayumiharris" the mother, a non-working registered nurse and formerly midwifery student writes:

"After 2 pushes she crowned, I felt the intense "ring of fire", one more natural push and her head was out. Last push....we had a baby!"

Possibly "ring of fire" is a more often used term for the hurting sensual impression during the last and extremely stretchening opening phase of the birth channel. --Helium4 (talk) 04:09, 27 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

(I can't recall in what context public-radio taught me this sense of the term.) I came to the accompanying Dab only bcz i was reminded of the term (by the apparently fraudulent "Ocean of Fire" refs in the film Hidalgo), to see if we cover this sense in addition to the song and the Pacific Rim. (I guess I accidentally asked Google to search images; i dunno if that might affect Google's search-term suggestions...) In any case i did something like starting to type "birth" after "ring of fire", and then accepted G's search key suggestion
ring of fire birth labor
for a text search that produces "About 11,300,000 results", which to me sounds like it's a significant usage.
Among the earliest ones, mention(s?) by healthline.com looked closest to authoritative. But IMO we ought to be able to do better: their list of personnel ran to about 3 dozen, and only a handful near the end (as if not core staff) had much in the way of real health credentials: 3 MDs, i think.
