Major revamping

I did some major re-editing and added his works and more biographical details, among other things. I hope the article is easier to understand now (before it was just a literal translation from the Portuguese version). Ricardo Carvalho Calero's name

He was born as Ricardo Carballo Calero, but from 1981 onwards he used the name Ricardo Carvalho Calero. He changed his name due to his believes about the ortography Galician language must use. It doesn't matter if we agree or not with reintegrationism, that was his choice and we must respect it. Yes, the old name must also be mentioned at the article, but the main name, and the title of this article, must be the name he chose. — AmilGZ (talk) 08:44, 24 June 2019 (UTC)

Understood. So now we have 2 names with mostly equal number of sources, I could keep adding sources of one name, and so could the other person with the other name. So... an objective person should analyse the subject and what name we should use.

Next year's Galician Literature Day (2020) will be dedicated to him, and I can guarantee most current sources (newspapers, associations...), both Galician and Spanish ones, use the name Carvalho Calero (Praza Pública, El País, La Voz de Galicia, Faro de Vigo...). —AmilGZ (talk) 17:35, 24 June 2019 (UTC)

Is Ricardo Carballo (without Calero) the most commonly used name? Are you serious? If the author chose the spelling Carvalho, why not respect that? It's something that escapes my understanding. Santa Companha (talk) 18:53, 2 May 2024 (UTC)

Will the Spanish Wikipedia using Carballo[1], and the Real Academia Galego (hosts of Galician Literature Day) in announcements about next year's literature day also using Carballo[2], make any difference in the debate?

His name is Carvalho and you know it. The same way Chelsea Mannning's page is not named Bradley Manning.
