Henry Clay's resignation edit
Should we include Henry Clay's announced resignation in 1851? Clay announced in 1851 that he would resign to take effective in September 1852. An Archibald Dixon won election to take over his term but Clay died and David Meriwether was appointed to take over by the governor. It's an interest note in that Clay did announce an resignation but he didn't actually resign because he died before his resignation took effect. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 20:45, 24 November 2015 (UTC)
