one of the best selling...

no citation needed. it's common sense. She's sold 60 million records, Dolly has sold 50. I'm sure no one would debate for a country artist that is huge. How much has Shania sold? about 50-60.

→I believe a reliable source is needed as citation. If she really is one of the best selling, someone must have put her in a reliable list! Larsenbagvendt (talk) 13:58, 5 March 2009 (UTC)

No mention of the TV sitcom?

There's no mention of the TV sitcom Reba stars/starred in. - Ageekgal (talk) 22:09, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

Yes there is under the section 2001-2002: Success in other media. --Caldorwards4 (talk) 22:51, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

Proposed edit about Reba dating married men

Here anon editor attempts to add a number of bits cited to wordpress blog, angelfire anonymous self-published page. There may be valid content here, but it is all done as one large edit. The wp:BLP-breaking bits MUST have more than one wp:RS or a very STRONG single one. wp:BLP is an exception to wp:3rr, and the content is going to stay out unless there is consensus against me. If restored again I will remove it again. If needed, I will eventually take it to the Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons/Noticeboard, or if one of the anon editors thinks I am abusing them, they may choose to do so now. I don't think that will go well for them, though. Also, wp:NOT a tabloid. - sinneed (talk) 20:01, 8 September 2009 (UTC)

Reba dating married men isnt an idea. It is fact. Im trying to look throught microfilm from the 80s but it is prooving difficult. But it FACT that Charlie with kids when Reba dated him. It is FACT that Narvel was married with kids when Reba dates him as well.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.26.98.90 (talkcontribs) 21:07, 8 September 2009

  • Wikipedia cannot assess truth or falsehood. WP can only assess whether content is based on generally wp:reliable sources and in compliance with Wikipedia rules. Blogs and self-published sites will not generally meet that requirement for controversial content about living persons. I must point out that if digging in 1980's microfilm is needed for a source, that source is unlikley to meet wp:Verifiability for this content.- sinneed (talk) 21:18, 8 September 2009 (UTC)

Anon addition conflicting with Billboard

An anon editor appears to be taking an Examiner /x-15710-Sacramento-Country-Music-Examiner~y2009m12d22-Reba-earns-34th-No-1-with-Consider-Me-Gone blog post to heart, and hammering "Consider Me Gone" into the number 1 country slot. However, it appears to remain in #2 slot. - Sinneed 22:51, 23 December 2009 (UTC)

It has reached the #1 slot as you can see from your own link. Conflict resolved. Dottiewest1fan (talk) 17:46, 10 January 2010 (UTC)

Reverted edit

I reverted this edit [1] as explained. In particular the cited source claims 1975, not 1976, and I checkted it on Google Books. If there is a reliable secondary source supporting 1976, it should be added to the article or mentioned here then we can work out how to handle the conflicting sources. While I have no doubt she has some involvement with charity work, the only mention I could find of anything related in this article is a charity single. If she isn't particularly notable for her charity work, I don't think we need to say her occupation is a philantrophist. Similarly I couldn't find any mention of her being a fashion designer in the article. 'Author' is perhaps the only one with some mild justification, as the article does list two books she wrote, however as there's no discussion of these books and she doesn't seem particularly notable for them, it's IMHO unnecessary (although I won't object if someone adds it back). Nil Einne (talk) 12:50, 22 September 2010 (UTC)

You have forgotten to mention a charity that she says is close to her that is Habitat for Humanity link to confirm authenticity is here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GeliQtSuCkM

No article for All The Women I Am?

There was no article for this album, which is strange because it is coming out in a matter of days, there has already been a single and the album art has been revealed. I have done the best I could with my lacking editing skills but it would be great if an experienced editor could go over it and fix it up properly.

Confusing chronology on marriage

Currently, the article's "Personal Life" section has a paragraph that reads:

Her career started to gain significant and sustained momentum. In 1989, McEntire married her manager and former steel guitar player, Narvel Blackstock. The couple wed in a private ceremony on a boat in Lake Tahoe. Together, the pair took over all aspects of McEntire's career, forming Starstruck Entertainment, which was originally designed to help manage her career. From her second marriage, McEntire inherited three stepchildren - Chassidy, Shawna, and Brandon - and then gave birth to a son, Shelby Steven McEntire Blackstock, in February 1990. On August 3, 2015, it was announced in a joint statement on McEntire's website that she and Blackstock had been separated for a few months after twenty-six years of marriage.

The bold face on "career. From" has been added by me to show where the problem is. "career" appears to be the last word about her first marriage, and "From" appears to be the first word about her next marriage, but to whom? Or perhaps this is all about her second marriage, but if so, where's the mention of her first?

I'm not a fan, so this is not as obvious to me as it would be to most people editing here. Please make it clearer. Unschool 05:20, 15 April 2017 (UTC)

RfC about "country" in lede

As with the ongoing RfCs at Talk:Blake Shelton and Talk:Tim McGraw, per MOS:BLP the genre should be included in the lede on a case-by-case basis, so should "country singer-songwriter" be mention in the lede here? On a side note, I think that the provision of MOS:BLP is sort of unnecessary, but there is a reason why I did not WP:BOLDly add it. - CHAMPION (talk) (contributions) (logs) 22:18, 13 December 2017 (UTC)

I don't really see what it adds. The genre is in the infobox and it doesn't seem being a country singer is significantly different than being a pop singer etc. I think the current "American singer, songwriter, actress, and record producer" seems fine (sent here by bot) --DynaGirl (talk) 07:20, 17 December 2017 (UTC)
  • Sure At least this one has it in the infobox, Toby Keith didn't. (Summoned by bot) L3X1 (distænt write) 02:01, 18 December 2017 (UTC)
  • Yes Accurately describes the musician and her role as a singer, and a songwriter of country music. Comatmebro (talk) 17:54, 26 December 2017 (UTC)
  • Sure. (Summoned by bot) I don't see why not to add the role. With already has been said, it accurately describes her role. Cocohead781 (talk) 22:40, 3 January 2018 (UTC)
  • Yep - Genres in ib so makes sense to have it here, –Davey2010Talk 19:56, 7 January 2018 (UTC)

This sentence does not make sense

This is from the relationships section

Together, the pair took over all aspects of McEntire's career, forming Starstruck Entertainment, which was originally designed to help manage her career.

Is the company about her career or something else? Very confusing. 69.181.216.33 (talk) 02:49, 12 December 2021 (UTC)
