Primary sources about the 1396 mention

It is mentioned that the Mahesh Rath Yatra is the second oldest after Puri. The temple is established in 1396. Hence this cannot be the second oldest after Puri, as there are a number of Jagannatha temples in Odisha that are contemporary to the Puri temple and even some that are older than the Puri temple. The Ratha Jatras in those temples are still continuing.

Regarding the 1396 establishment of the Yatra, what are the primary epigraphical or archaeological or literary sources? No sources have been cited in the article. Without any historical source how can an exact year be known? If it is a legend, it should be mentioned as a legend not as absolute history.
